Upcoming PEACE Exhibitons 2018:
In the memorial year 2018, 100 years after World War I, the exhibition PEACE will be opened in the heart of Europe, in Vienna, during the period of the Austrian presidency at the European Union.
There they are again:
Social tensions, political fires and conflicts, terror, rearmament, signs of a cold war, and the danger of and real military conflict.
Representatives of the young generation are vigilant - and call for the sensitization of society and politics for the complex subject peace.
From Vienna, Austria, and from numerous countries of the world significant young artists recall the unconditional importance of peace and actively engage with their artistic work for democracy and peace-promoting measures in order to stimulate dialogue for peace in this open regional and international artistic context.
With this PEACE project the historical introduction of peace after WW1 in Europe is remembered. The aim of this project is to point out peace-promoting engagement for peace then and now.
The 2018 commemorative year - with it`s historical references to the time around 1918 - is taken as an opportunity to face history and learn from it and to discuss the importance of today's commitment and actual engagement for democracy and peace in the world as well as it`s difficulties.
The artworks in this young art exhibition face also breaks with democracy and peace in order to raise the attention to peace-threatening situations and to encourage early detection, learning and peace engagement for our current time.
Thisproject from Vienna, Austria, emphasises the regions and their different regional approaches and views.
PEACE is regional and international in terms of participation, cooperation, communication and relevance and is designed to jointly reach broad parts of society. Still the project aims to reach the individual with his/her friends, family, neighbourhood, district, city and region.
